Accommodation Details

The larger cottage has 3 bedrooms/1.5 baths and sleeps 8. The smaller cottage has 1 huge bedroom/1 bath and sleeps 6. Both cottages have heat, cable TV, large picnic tables and BBQ grills on patios, and fully equipped kitchens with coffee makers, microwaves, dishwashers, dishes, and pots and pans. The two cottages share the washer, dryer, telephone line and dock.

Kitchen and hand towels are provided but guests need to bring their own beach and bath towels.

Each cottage has its own row boat and the cottages share a paddle boat.

The cottages have been in the family since 1958. My parents bought one and my grandparents bought the other. The smaller (1BR/1BA) cottage was rebuilt 30 years ago.

Smoking is not allowed in either cottage. Pets are not allowed without prior agreement.

Surroundings

The two cottages are on two lots with several shade trees. There is over 100 feet of lake frontage. Water recreation includes swimming, fishing and boating. Other nearby recreation includes golf and winery tours.

It is some of the best swimming conditions in the area. The water is clear and the lakebed is sandy. Our lots front a sand bar so it is abnormally shallow for 150 feet before dropping off. The lake frontage is 25% occupied by a non-working farm. The lake does not become crowded with boats. A public landing is on the other side of the lake for launching boats.

Lake Brownwood covers 200 acres. Motors are allowed but there is a �no wake� rule between 7:30PM and 11:00AM. Lake fish include blue gill, sun fish, perch and bass.

There are several golf courses, wineries and U-pick farms within a 20 minute drive. One of the largest blueberry farms in the state is a mile away. Wineries offer free tours and the golf courses are fun to play and reasonably priced.
