Vacation Home Rental Rates and SeasonsRental Rates for the farmhouse are $100 per night for two people and $500 per week. The farmhouse rents year round. Accommodation DetailsThe vacation farmhouse has eight rooms including 3 bedrooms, 1˝ baths, living room, dining room, kitchen, and two porches. It sleeps up to 6 people. The farmhouse has heat, a wood stove, cable TV, VCR, and radio/DVD/CD player. The fully-equipped kitchen has a coffee maker, microwave, dishes, and pots and pans. Linens and towels are provided. Nestled in a valley between Polish and Martin mountains, the grounds feature a trout stocked creek, barn and blacksmith shop. The property has a large open field as well as a pine grove, apple trees, pear trees, raspberries and a grape arbor as well as flowering plants such as lilacs, hydrangeas, wild roses, peonies and rose of sharon. The property has croquet, horseshoes, and a barbecue grill. No smoking. Pets are OK. The house is not handicapped accessible. SurroundingsThe home is secluded and quiet, and the property is mountainous. Nearby recreation includes golf, hiking, swimming, bicycling, horseback riding, downhill skiing and hunting. The farmhouse is located in Flintstone, a rural village situated on historic National Pike. Locally run businesses are within walking distance including Helmick's Store known for their homemade sausages and a Mennonite owned and operated Alpine Pantry which has fresh baked items and many bulk foods. Flintstone creek borders the property and is stocked with trout in early Spring. A general store is walking distance from the property. The property is situated between two state parks and the mountainous city of Cumberland is located about 15 minutes west. The Victorian town of Cumberland is in the cradle of the valley of the Potomac River in Western Maryland, in the lush landscape of the heart of the Appalachian Mountains and is a 10 minute drive west from the farmhouse. Several locks of the C&O Canal are located close to the farmhouse, the start of the canal being located in Cumberland. LOCAL FLINTSTONE BUSINESSES: Helmick General Store: You can walk to Helmick's General Store for milk, bread, canned goods, beer etc. They’re especially known for their homemade sausages.
