Accommodation Details

The peaceful vacation resort has 6 cabins of varying size. Each has 1 or 2 bedrooms, queen-size beds, and sleep from 6 to 8 people. All cottages have a full bath, back deck, wood burning stove, TV, and fully-equipped kitchens with coffee maker, microwave, dishes, and pots and pans. The cabin rentals also come with linens and towels. The nostalgic retreat has all modern necessities.

A family lodge is available that sleeps over 14 people and has R.V. hook-ups. The lodge has a restaurant style kitchen with dishwasher and washer/dryer. The recreation room is great for family reunions and group meetings.

On the other side of the road of the cabins is a RV park with 15 hookups. The RV park has laundry facilities, and landscaped and shaded sites with lawns.

Pets and smoking are allowed. The cabins are not handicap accessible.

Surroundings

The Best in the West Resort is a small resort nestled among the pines, cedars, and firs, in the Sacramento Canyon. The cabins are arranged around a courtyard alongside clear and peaceful Mears Creek. A short walk will bring you to the forests, birds, animals, and the smells of wild flowers. Azaleas scent the air in Spring, and blackberries abound in Summer.

The Sacramento River area offers many activities such as white water rafting, river tubing, swimming, limited fishing, cross-country skiing, golf, water skiing, climbing, walking, and relaxing. Majestic Mount Shasta is only 20 miles to the north, and beautiful Lake Shasta is 20 miles to the south and has beautiful wet caves to explore.
