Concan, Texas

Much vacation activity in Concan focuses on the Frio River that flows clear, cold spring water through 100,000 scenic acres. The river originates in northern Real County and is fed by springs and streams. It tumbles over limestone rock to create beautiful waterfalls, rapids, and pools. Along the river banks are boulders, bluffs, and grassy spots shaded by pecans, live oaks, sycamores, and giant centuries-old cypress trees. A favorite activity is swimming in and floating on the Frio River. Residents in this "Land of 1100 Springs" are proud of the natural beauty of their area and encourage visitors to preserve it. | |||||||||||
