This area was originally settled during the great lumbering era, when the vast forests of Michigan were cut.  Many of the stately homes date from the mid- to late-1800's.

Lexington offers a large harbor of refuge on Lake Huron, built from gigantic boulders.  The town and surrounding areas offer some of the state's most spectacular scenery.

There are lots of special activities planned by the Lexington Promotional Committee, including free concerts in the harbor park on Friday nights in the summer, judged art fairs, and historical tours.
